End of Term

It’s the end of term. We are closing the Centre for two weeks from this Friday and our new term will start on September 1st. This has been quite a difficult decision to make but we are all quite tired and need some rest. We will come back energized for the new start in September…..well we can hope!As we look back we see so much that has been achieved with our clients. This will be acknowledged at our Annual General Meeting which will be held on September 3rd at 4.30pm here at Bens. Last year we gave out certificates to acknowledge all our clients had achieved and it was a lovely time for them and us too. Some had never ever tasted any success at all and to receive a certificate, even at this stage in their lives, was so rewarding for them and a real encouragement to try other life skills. We also had the most amazing afternoon tea which included scones, strawberry jam and sponge cakes all made by the clients. Anyone who would like to come please do feel welcome to join us and you can see for yourself what we do and also you can enjoy all the tasty treats that will be on offer. We are taking our Women’s group to see ‘Mamma Mia’ on Tuesday. They have been working so hard making beautiful cards for us to sell at our open day in November (date will be announced later). They have loved doing them and have learnt some new and quite difficult techniques. So a good sing-along for staff and clients will be a treat. We will be back with the blog when we return.
