Sale and Trip!

Yesterday we had a stall at the Nether Edge Christmas Market in aid of HARC (homeless and rootless at Christmas).  We had some of the lovely things we had made for our Christmas Sale left over and we made a few other ones to take. nether-edge-christmas-market-dec-08-blog The day was beautiful with clear blue sky and cold. We took two of our clients with us Emma and Dave and apart from the cold which seemed to creep up your body as the day went on and the sun went down it was a good day. We sold £88 worth of crafts. We only started in August making crafts with a view to sell and we are learning each time we do anything what sells best and people like. At the moment the top seller are our cranberry hearts. wokmania-meal-and-various-activities-in-bens-nov-dec-08-025-blog

Tomorrow we are going on trip with our clients. Spurred on by the last trip which was so successful, and again receiving funding from the same source we decided to venture out again! This time we are going to Castleton. The trip will begin at 2.00pm and we will be closing the Centre an hour earlier. We may get more to come doing it this way. Our aim is to let the mini-bus drop us off in Winnat’s Pass and we will have a walk around there for a while looking for fossils! One person said ‘would Sue be hiding’! Then we will take a leisurely walk down into the village and as it will be getting dark by then we will look at the Christmas decorations which are so pretty there. We will then be picked up by our mini-bus and driven to Hathersage where we will all have a meal together, heading back into Sheffield for about 7.30pm. We have had plenty of interest, and the choosing of their choice of meal has all added to the feeling of excitement, and generally doing something that will break up the monotony of many of our client’s day. We are so grateful for this funding as it opens doors that in the past have been closed to our clients. Our next blog will tell all….well most anyway!
