Report of our Christmas Sale
Well it’s the Monday after our first Christmas Sale. It was a success and although we would have liked more people we had a steady stream of visitors all afternoon. The clients had worked so hard producing decorations and cards and delicious food. Ben’s Centre looked very festive and we received such a lot of encouraging comments from our visitors.Phill, our impressive cook, had, as we are coming to expect now, produced a magnificent array of puddings and cakes to tempt us. His Hazelnut meringue gateau with raspberry coulis is becoming legendary. It is a pudding you would travel a long way for and the thought makes your mouth water. Alongside this was Mississippi Mud Pie, Apple Cake and Mince Pies. A culinary feast and the silence as people started to eat said it all. Phill has worked very hard indeed to produce all this yummy food especially as it was to such a high standard. We are so grateful to him for his willingness to come in and consistently cook for us. Well done Phill and thank you. Emma has worked tirelessly producing crafts and cards. The standard has been amazing and she has just beevered away every day producing beautiful cards, tree decorations, Christmas wreaths, and cranberry hearts and table decorations. Chrissie and other clients have contributed too and we are again so grateful for all their hard work. Dave played his guitar all afternoon and it was lovely to hear him singing and playing in the background, hardly having a break. It made for a lovely atmosphere in the Centre. People were very admiring of Dave’s beautiful photographs of Chatsworth displayed on the wall and also made into cards. It was so good for the clients to see all their hard work displayed and people being willing to buy them and also hear all the positive comments about what they had done. Our clients very rarely taste success and any kind of achievement and so to see what they are able to achieve really encourages and lifts their self-esteem and spurs them on to try other thing too. All in all it was a good afternoon and we made the wonderful sum of £317. So watch this space for our next one. As a big thank you to all the clients who so willingly contributed to our Sale we are going to take them out for a meal to celebrate. Thank you to all of you who came and supported us we really did appreciate it.
